Data Collection

How do we collect personal data?

We collect personal data provided directly by the data subject in the context of employment contracts with our employees, unsolicited job applications for recruitment purposes, commercial processes, registration for training courses, information requests submitted through our website, e-book and other documentation downloads, participation in events we organise, consultancy, audit and training projects, and the maintenance of commercial and business/organisational relationships, as well as the management of complaints with the various stakeholders relevant to our activity.

We also collect data from visitors to our website through the use of cookies, in accordance with our published Cookies Policy.

Data provided by entities other than the data subject

We collect personal data provided by clients, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders in the context of contract execution, participation in events, consultancy, audit and training projects, and the maintenance of commercial and business/organisational relationships.

Depending on the nature of the interaction and only when necessary, Omniscience may request certain personal data, such as: name, email address, address/location, telephone number, identification document/tax identification number, date of birth, gender, nationality, academic qualifications, professional situation and/or banking or payment details.

Processing of Personal Data

How do we process and use personal data?

We process personal data through automated and manual means and apply technological safeguards and organisational controls that we consider appropriate and proportionate for their protection and preservation. Personal data processing is carried out in accordance with appropriate practices to ensure information security and its integrity, confidentiality and availability.

Omniscience employees uphold high ethical and confidentiality standards, ensured through a rigorous recruitment process and formal professional confidentiality and non-disclosure commitments.

Omniscience may disclose your personal data to third parties, ensuring that such entities process the data solely for the purposes indicated.

Where applicable, we may share your information with:

  • Marketing communication service providers;
  • Regulatory authorities, for the purposes of compliance verification of the activities carried out;
  • Entities with which Omniscience has an operational partnership, for the execution of activities covered by such partnerships.

Any service provider will process the data exclusively for the purposes established by Omniscience and in accordance with Omniscience's instructions, strictly complying with applicable legal requirements on personal data protection, information security and other relevant regulations.

Why do we process personal data?

The collection, processing, use, storage and handling of personal data is carried out to fulfil contractual obligations and legal duties arising from our business activity, as well as to send information about our products and services and to provide an excellent level of service to our clients.

Data Retention and Transfers

Personal data is stored for the duration of the contractual relationship with Omniscience and for the legally required retention period. Data is transferred solely for the same purposes and only to entities required by law or to referenced partners, in the latter case subject to the data subject's consent.

Rights

What are the rights of data subjects?

Data subjects may request the erasure, restriction or objection to the processing of their personal data, the cessation of automated processing for profiling purposes, as well as data portability, in accordance with applicable legislation.

Data subjects may also lodge a complaint regarding the processing of their personal data with the national supervisory authority, the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados – CNPD).
